Guidelines
Hello and welcome to Stingray Literary Journal. We are currently seeking fiction, poetry, and nonfiction as well as environmentalist works for our first issue. Though we mostly accept literary fiction, we are also interested in genre fiction so please feel free to send it our way. We are very intrigued by sharp, daunting prose as well as deep, emotionally devastating conflicts. Make us swim into the deep end of human experience. Most of all, we just want well-written, resonant pieces that leave us feeling stung.
We only accept submissions via Submittable. Please email stingrayliteraryjournal@gmail.com if you have questions.
Fiction and Nonfiction
-Please send one story/essay between 100 and 6,000 words. If you are submitting flash (100-1000 words), you may send up to three different pieces in one document.
-Please use 12pt font with double spacing and standard 1-inch margins. We prefer a standard serif font like Times New Roman or Garamond.
-Please remove all identifying information from the document.
-We will respond to your submission within one month.
-Accepted works will be posted on our site in a digital issue. We may also use excerpts of the work for social media posts.
-Simultaneous submissions are perfectly fine. We also accept previously published works.
-We pay $10 per selected piece.
Poetry

Visual Art
-Please send up to five pieces of visual art.
-Any type of visual art is acceptable but we especially love photography and art that incorporates nature in some way.
-Send us whatever size image you see fit.
-We pay $10 per selected piece.
Environmentalist Writing

-Please send us one piece of fiction/nonfiction or up to three poems that deal with the environment, environmental activism, or climate change in some way.
-6,000 words is the limit for prose. There is no word or line limit for poetry.
-For prose, please use 12pt font with double spacing and standard 1 inch margins. We prefer a standard serif font like Times New Roman or Garamond. Feel free to space your poetry however you see fit.
